1 Matthew N. Dailey
Assistant professor at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Thailand. He obtained his Ph.D from the department of computer science and engineering, at University of California, San Diego in 2002. Throughout his professional carrier Mr. Mathew Dailey has worked on various professional and scholarly positions. He is currently affiliated with the AIT vision and graphics lab. He has over 100 publications in the field of machine learning, pattern recognition, robotics and computer vision. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. Member of the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and the Thai Robotics Society (TRS). In 2009, he was awarded with the best reviewer award in MIWAI conference. He is also a reviewer for Neural Networks; IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks; Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems; International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence journals.

2 Prof. Dr. David Smith
Prof. Dr. David Smith is the former Director of the Nebraska Center for Mass Spectrometry. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Kansas U.S.A. He has over 180 publications in the field of mass spectrometry. He designed and constructed specialized mass spectrometers for studies of gas phase ion-molecule reactions. He also developed high sensitivity methods for exact mass measurements, chemical derivatization, advanced instrumentation for field desorption ionization, and GC MS interfaces optimized for highly polar compounds. Dr Smith has also completed several research programs based on applications of mass spectrometry for analysis of biomaterials. Major areas include structure elucidation of proteins and natural products, development of stable isotope tracer methodology for calcium and magnesium, and initial development of methods for studying the folded structures of proteins. Many of the protein structure studies focused on the causes of cataract and involved proteins isolated from the eye lens. During his professional career he also worked on biological mass spectrometry.

3 Dr. Daniel Hoessli
Prof. Hoessli is a medical doctor and biochemist, now retired professor of pathology and immunology from the University of Geneva (Faculty of Medicine). He has taught pathology and immunology in the medical curriculum for 20 years. In the last 10 years, he was involved in setting up a problem-based curriculum which is now utilized to teach all preclinical disciplines in the University of Geneva Faculty of medicine.

4 Dr. Martin Schnermann
Postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Professor Larry Overman, a leading scientist in the areas of natural product total synthesis and organic methodology. Martin attended Colby college in Waterville, Maine where he graduated with degrees in Chemistry and Physics. He worked at Pfizer Global Research and Developement as a medicinal chemist before attending the Scripps Research Institute where he received a Ph.D. in the laboratory of Professor Dale L. Boger. His interests lie in the areas of the total synthesis of complex natural products and the characterization of the biological mechanism of action of small molecules. He has published in these areas in leading journals such as the Journal of the American Chemical Society and the Proceedings of the Natural Academy of Sciences, USA. He received the prestigious NIH Kirschstein Postdoctoral Fellowship, as well as other awards.

5 Prof. Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel Aziz
Professor of animal breeding and quantitative genetics. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota, USA, in the area of animal genetics with statistical emphasis. He is working as a professor of animal genetics at Alexandria University, Egypt. His research interests are focusing on estimation of variance components and genetic parameters, designing breeding programs and animal biotechnology including the most recent issues related to single nucleotide polymorphisms and qtl and gene markers. Prof. Mahmoud has published about 43 papers most of them in peer reviewed journals. In addition he has written 7 books in Arabic. He is a member in several animal production societies

6 Dr. MD. Khalilur Rahman
Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his Ph.D. and Post-Doc. (UNESCO, Monbokhagako and AOTS Fellowship and Scholarship) from Tokyo Institute of Technology (T.I.T), Tokyo, Japan and also did his Post-Doc at the ICGEB, Trieste (Italy). He was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the National University, Bangladesh and also he was the Vice-Chancellor of the Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology Universtiy, Bangladesh. He was the Chairman, at Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Dhaka University and Rajshahi University. Dr. Khalilur Rahan is also working as an advisor for JUAAB (Japn. Univ. Alumni Assoc. BD) and as the founding President of the Alumini Association of UNESCO-Fellow of T.I.T, Japan. He has also received various outstanding and enormous awards such as Third World Academy of Sciences Italian Award, ICRO-UNESCO Fellowship, Japan, UNIDO-ICGEB Fellowship (Italy), European Economic Commission Fellowship, etc.

7 Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary
Prof. Choudhary, Director, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, is a leading scientist, whose contributions are recognized both at national and international levels by numerous prestigious awards, such as first Khwarizmi International Award by the President of Iran and ECO award in education 2006 by the President of Azerbaijan. His contributions for the promotion of chemical science in Pakistan, and his scientific discoveries in the fields of bioorganic and natural product chemistry have been recognized by the Govt. of Pakistan through the prestigious civil awards, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz from the President of Pakistan. His main areas of interest are bioorganic, structural organic and natural product chemistry, which have resulted in valuable discoveries at the interface of chemistry and biology. Dr. Choudhary has written and edited 27 books, most of which have been published in USA and Europe and has over 860 research publications in top international journals, 20 national and international patents, and over 24 internationally published books and over 7500 citations to his credit. His contributions in the field of applications of NMR spectroscopy are internationally recognized.

8 Dr. Athar Ata
Alumnus of H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and now currently working as a tenured Professor of Chemistry at the University of Winnipeg. He is working in the area of natural product chemistry with a view of discovering lead bioactive compounds for drug discovery program against infectious diseases.

PhD from London University, UK, in 1971. He is working as a principal at Center for advanced mathematics and Physics(CAMP), National university of science and technology(NUST). His scientific discoveries have been recognized by the Govt. of Pakistan through the prestigious civil awards, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz from the President of Pakistan.

10 Prof. Dr. S. Arif Kazmi
Worked for Ph.D. under Prof. E. S. Gould ( an early collaborator of Henry Taube, Nobel Laureate) and done Postdoctoral research under J. V. McArdle & R. A. Scott (both of them worked with H. B. Gray, a leading Inorganic Chemist at CALTECH working in the area of chemical and biological Electron transfer). He has over 30 years of teaching experience at different institute including Hunter College of CUNY, University of Karachi, Rutgers University, Georgia State University, H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry. He has published 60+ Papers in Journals of National and International repute including Inorg Chemistry., J. Physical Chemistry (ACS primary Journals), J. of Inorg. and Nuclear chem. ( now renamed Polyhedron), J. of Inorg. Biochem, BBA, BBRC, Chem. & Biodiversity, Inorg. Chimica. Acta., Spectrochimica Acta-Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, J. Iranian Chemical Society, Journal of Saudi Chemical Society, J. Chem. Soc. (Pak) etc. He has produced 10 PhDs, attended numerous International Meetings and Symposia, Workshops etc. connected with his interests.

11 Dr. Syed Ghulam Musharraf
Dr. Syed Ghulam Musharraf is an Associate Professor at H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi. He obtained his PhD from University of Karachi. Dr. Musharraf has over 70 research publications in reputed international journals. His current research is based on the utilization of modern mass spectrometric approaches as a powerful analytical tool in (1) proteomics and metabolomics studies for the search of bio-signatures in lung, oral and breast cancers which are common cancers in Pakistan, (2) screening and optimization of algal oil in Pakistani algae for biodiesel production, (3) development of protonated / deprotonated fragmentation pathways and structure fragmentation relationship (SFR) of pharmacologically significant classes of natural products, and (4) LC- and GC-MS method development for marker compound analysis in Pakistani agricultural products and commercially important plant extracts.

Worked as Senior Teaching Fellow in SOAS Politics Dept, taught Govt & Politics of South Asia through lectures, seminars (democracy, devt, militant groups: India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal) As Tutorial Teacher in LSE Govt Dept, taught Intro to Political Science; won three teaching awards.

13 Prof. Dr. Munir Ozturk
Prof. Dr. Münir ÖZTÜRK (Plant Ecology, Ethnobotany, and Environmental Sciences) holds a D.Sc. in Plant Ecology from the Ege University, Izmir-Turkey. He has been working nearly for the last 40 years on plants, produced over 400 papers in the field of ecological studies of medicinal as well as other plants and biomonitoring in different habitats. He has participated in 15 national projects, 2 EU projects together with Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Germany and Italy, a Volkswagen project with Germany and a project from CABI with Switzerland. Worked at Munich Technical University-Germany as Alexander Von Humboldt fellow, in Tohoku University-Japan as JSPS fellow, at the University of Chapel Hill-USA under NSF program. He has given lectures in more than 30 countries. Over 30 books published /edited by him including well cited volumes from the Springer, Elsevier, Birkhauser Verlag, and Cambridge Scholars. He worked with government and private universities, NGOs, and recently as a Consultant Fellow at the Faculty of Forestry, University Putra Malaysia, and Selangor-Malaysia. He has membership in several international associations and also serving as a member on the board of editors in several journals.

20 Dr. Sumaira Amir
Dr. Sumaira Amir is an experienced scientist, biochemist and cancer biologist at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of California Davis (UC Davis), USA. Dr. Amir obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and postdoctoral training in Cancer Biology. She specializes in oncology research with extensive expertise in cellular and molecular biology and experience in bench-to bedside targeted cancer therapeutics.

21 Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Bhanger
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Bhanger has completed his Ph.D. from University of London, U.K. in 1979, and Post-Doctoral Research from University of Pittsburgh, USA in 1987. He has been teaching in International Centre of Chemical & Biological Sciences, University of Karachi since 2012. He has served National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry (NCEAC), University of Sindh, Jamshoro as Professor and Director till 2012. His fields of interest are supramolecular chemistry and its applications in sensor and separation sciences, Functionalized magnetic nanoparticles as chemosensors and adsorbents for metal ions and organics in environmental and biological systems, Development of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods of analysis with improved figures of merit for analysis of various analytes. He has received Presidential Award Aezaz-e-Fazeelat, Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman Prize / Gold Medal in Chemistry by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, and also been honoured as Productive Scientist in category “A” in 2010 – 2012 by the Ministry of Science & Technology. He is serving as Editor-in-Chief, Journal Chemical Society of Pakistan. He has published 180 quality research papers in Peer reviewed journals and delivered plenary lectures in several international conferences.

22 Dr. H. Anwar Hafiz
Dr. H. Anwar Ahmad, a tenured professor in Biology-Environmental Science and Director Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Core at Jackson State University, USA possesses over 25 years of higher education experience, including teaching, research, consulting, and grant management. Besides teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Risk Analysis and Information Systems, Dr. Ahmad provide consulting services to researchers in various aspects of experimental designs and data management in USA and abroad. Dr. Ahmad has been actively involved in multidisciplinary and multifunctional collaborative research nationally and internationally with organizations, such as US Department of Agriculture (Quantitative Risk Assessment Studies of Food borne Illnesses), US Department of State (Establishing a Biostatistical Consulting Center in Pakistan), etc. Dr. Ahmad possesses extensive publication record with over 100 peer reviewed research articles, abstracts and conference proceedings. Dr. Ahmad formal education includes BS, MS, and Ph.D. in animal sciences, MBA and MS in computer information systems. He has participated in various short-term training, such as bioinformatics, risk analysis, recombinant DNA technology, teaching methodology, and international relations.

23 Prof. Dr. Anna Kate Ursula Kara
Dr. Kara has a Ph.D. in Chemistry with an M.Sc. thesis in natural products and a Ph.D. thesis in membrane biochemistry. Her post-doctoral work in immuno-parasitology took her to East Africa, Australia and the US. Subsequently, she taught immunology, biochemistry and molecular parasitology at the Medical School of the University of Heidelberg as well as the National University of Singapore for more than 10 years before retirement. At present, Dr. Kara is a consultant for Veredus Laboratories Singapore as well as the SES in Bonn, Germany.

Prof. Dr. Joachim W. Herzig, PhD, DSc (hc) has been Professor of Physiology and Pharmacology at University of Heidelberg, Germany, the Aga Khan University Karachi, Pakistan, and University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has been President of two Universities in Germany and Ethiopia. He has vast experience as an Academic Researcher and Educator, including the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Medical Community. His special interests are Cardiovascular and Muscular Research, the Development of Postgraduate Studies and the Advancement of Education in the Developing World. He is Adjunct Professor at the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) in Karachi and Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of PCMD. His home base is in Germany.

25 Prof. Dr. Rafat Ali Siddiqui
Prof. Dr. Rafat Ali Siddiqui obtained his B.Sc from Islamia Science College, Karachi with First Class First Position in 1978 and a M.Sc degree from the Biochemistry Department of the University of Karachi with First Class First Position in 1980. He was awarded a scholarship from the Australian National University, and he obtained his PhD in 1987 in Biochemistry. Dr. Siddiqui worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Massey University, New Zealand during 1987-1989. At present he is a Senior Investigator at the Methodist Research Institute, Indiana University Health and Professor of Cellular Biochemistry, Department of Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine, USA. During his PhD studies he started working in the area of cancer research, and he still actively working in this area. Dr. Siddiqui is a member of many prestigious professional organizations including International Society for the Study of Fatty acids and Lipids (ISSFAL), American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and Indiana Chapter of Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
